Meet A Team Member: Michael Lynch

At Kaz, our team is at the heart of our success, and we cannot express how proud we are of them, and all that they contribute in the many facets of our business. We’d like to take this opportunity to introduce you to a key member of our team on the roofing side of things.

Michael Lynch is a production developer for us, primarily handling roofing sales and estimates. He’s been in roof sales for over 20 years, and July 2024 will mark his seventh year with us. He’s one of the first people on the scene when you come to us for your roofing needs.

We caught up with Michael to learn more about his job, get his expert roofing advice, and learn how he spends his time off-the-clock.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

It’s mainly the flexibility. My office is on the road, and every day I’m interacting with new customers, meeting new clients. It’s much better than being in an office eight hours a day.

What are some tell-tale signs you need your roof replaced or repaired?

If you see shingles missing, or notice that they’re starting to curl up or start to lose granules, it’s probably time to call an expert. If you have a leak somewhere in the upper floor of your home, that may be a sign it’s time for a roof repair or a replacement as well. It’s always best to be preventative before these things happen.

Are there ways to be preventative when it comes to repairing my roof?

Know the lifespan of your roof. A home inspector can help determine the remaining life in your roof allowing you to plan for your replacement. If I go out to a customer’s home, and I know they’re just being proactive to get their roof checked, and I see there’s nothing wrong with the roof, I let them know how much time is left on it. That’s what I do with my customers. I’m not going to sell somebody a roof if they don’t need it, just to make a sale.

Shifting to life off the clock. We hear you’re an expert cornhole player. Care to share more?

Yes! One of my good friends Sean and I run a cornhole league in Tonawanda called TNT Cornhole League. I’ve been playing cornhole for almost two years now, and our league’s been running on Monday nights for a year-and-a-half now. We have a Facebook page for the league as well.

What kind of cornhole players can play in the TNT Cornhole League?

Anybody can come and play — we have divisions for all skill levels.  We actually attract a lot of professional, competitive players. We’ve hosted professional cornholers from Canada and a local who’s played in the American Cornhole League – he’s been on ESPN and everything! When they come I’m always humbled when we square off. But, in order to get better you play people that are better than you!
